American Spaces Indonesia Annual Workshop 2017

American Spaces are the key overseas platforms for engaging local audiences and conducting face-to-face public diplomacy. The global network of more than 700 American Spaces includes both U.S. government-owned and operated spaces as well as partnership spaces, operated by local institutions.

In Indonesia, there are 12 American Spaces: 9 American Corners at UNAND, UIN Jakarta, ITB, UIN Semarang, UMY, UNAIR, UMM, UNTAN, and UNPATTI; MyAmerica Jakarta, MyAmerica Surabaya and @america.

Objectives:

At the completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Develop a strategic plan for your American Space that sets out clear objectives linked to foreign policy goals and addresses how the physical space, technology, programming, desired projects and/or administration will support achievement of the objectives
  • Create and implement audience-focused digital content and in-person programming that reinforces the U.S. foreign policy goals and objectives for the Spaces
